FIELD: shipbuilding. SUBSTANCE: station used for sounding the aqueous medium in depth is placed horizontally in stream. Station includes container with measuring modules, onboard control system, system for receiving and transmitting the information, sinking and surfacing system and ballast cargoes. Station is additionally provided with rod through which buoy rope is passed to connect it with anchor. The station proper and all its modules and systems are so positioned that sum of moments of force of displacement and mass of station relative to point of mounting of rod in trimming the station by means of ballast cargoes is equal to zero. Measurement of parameters of aqueous medium by means of station through search and drawing samples is effected with the aid of one complex of measuring modules; station is moved from one level of aqueous medium to another by command. Transmission of data on measurements to observation station is effected via radio channel with antenna of information receiving- transmitting system above water surface. In case motions exceed preset operational characteristics or water surface is covered with ice, surfacing is discontinued and transmission of data on measurements to holding pattern until safe surfacing conditions exist; measured parameters of aqueous medium are stored for subsequent transmission.
