PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum consolidation method and a vacuum consolidation system, which enable a sufficient consolidation improvement effect to be obtained when vacuum consolidation improvement is performed for ground having a surface layer part provided with of a mutual layer of sand and clay.SOLUTION: In a vacuum consolidation method, when ground improvement is performed for ground G where a mutual layer of sand and clay exists in a surface layer part, a drain material 11 having an airtight cap 12 provided at an upper end is driven into the ground from a ground surface S; a low-permeability soil layer 40 is constructed in the ground surface S; and water is supplied into the ground from a lower part of the low-permeability soil layer so that a groundwater level of the ground can be higher than the airtight cap.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
