A terminal device for performing uplink multiple access communication provided with a receiver for receiving a frame that includes first uplink multiple access information, and a transmitter for transmitting a frame that includes second uplink multiple access information on the basis of the frame that includes the first uplink multiple access information, and further, starting the uplink multiple access communication after waiting for a prescribed period. The receiver determines whether the frame that includes the second uplink multiple access information transmitted by an other terminal device is received in the prescribed period, and the transmitter decides whether or not to start the uplink multiple access communication on the basis of whether the frame that includes the second uplink multiple access information transmitted by the other terminal device is received in the prescribed period.
