FIELD: sealing technology. SUBSTANCE: method consists in winding sealing tape made from expanded graphite on ring fitted on shaft, shifting this ring into gland chamber and tightening-up to be sealed. Expanded graphite tape is wound on thin-walled split sleeve fitted on shaft to be sealed. Prior to winding the tape, its end is placed between shaft to be sealed and in slot of sleeve. Prior to tightening-up unit to be sealed, thin-walled sleeve is removed from shaft to be sealed. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 4 cl, 3 dwg |
