PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melting device efficiently melting a object in a furnace. SOLUTION: A flange 17 inserted with a DC plasma torch 16 is fitted to the flange 13 of a cylinder tube 11 forming a high-frequency induction thermal plasma torch. The DC voltage from a DC power supply 8 can be applied between the end section (opposite side to a fused object 7) of its outer tube and the object 7. Stable frame-like air plasma Pb is formed in the cylinder tube 11 and in a furnace between the tube 11 and the object 7. Electric power of several MW, for example, is fed between the outer tube of the DC plasma torch 16 and the object 7 from the DC power supply 8. An electric conductor of the frame-like induction thermal plasma Pb is formed between the torch 16 and the object 7, thus DC thermal plasma Pc is superimposed in the induction thermal plasma Pb.
