PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automotive impact absorbing device for protecting occupants in the event that an automobile is rolled over. SOLUTION: This device has a shock-absorbing bracket 14 shaped so that its middle portion is bent downward. The bottom face of the middle portion of the shock-absorbing bracket 14 is fixed by means of a fixing bolt 20 at one side end to an inner panel 16 in such a way as to make intimate contact with a head lining 10, the inner panel 16 being located below a roof panel 24. The other end of the bottom face is fixed by means of a fixing bolt 20 to a roof rail 18 located between the head lining 10 and the roof panel 24.
