PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a metering system which can detect the abnormality of a metering instrument. SOLUTION: This metering system consists of a central monitoring panel 5 which manages the state of management points of various facilities, a terminal device 2 which is connected to the panel 5 via a transmission line 6, a metering instrument 1 which outputs a metering signal having the pulse width twice or more the sampling cycle of the device 2 to the device 2 and a control terminal device 7 which controls the input of the object to be metered and supplied to the instrument 1. If the state of 'H' cannot be detected in the prescribed times or more in a sampling mode of the metering signal and while a metered object is inputted to the instrument 1, the device 2 notifies the panel 5 of the abnormality of the instrument 1.
