PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display panel which has a flat face and is light in weight as a whole and which has a high strength and can be easily handled in packaging and transportation. SOLUTION: A base plate comprises a thin plate-shaped core material and thin aluminum plates, which are bonded respectively to the opposite sides of the core material, the external surface of each aluminum plate being coated with a transparent polyester resin or not coated with the resin. A photograph or picture of an article to be displayed is mounted on the front surface of the base plate.
