PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of fitting a functional cover member capable of quickly and easily fitting the functional cover material to a duct. SOLUTION: In this method of fitting a functional cover material 2 to the periphery of a duct 3, a metal net 5 is fitted to the outer surface side of the duct 3, and the metal net 5 is cut at the predetermined positions, and a part of the metal net 5 is bent for standing relative to the metal net 5 surface. The functional cover material 2 is pushed to the metal net 5 for fixation, and this bend and standing part 11 s passed through the functional cover material 2, and a stopper and fixing means 12 is fitted to an end of the bend and standing part 11 projected from the functional cover material 2 so as to fix the functional cover material 2.
