SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING VOD SERVICE UNDER WIRELESS NETWORK ENVIRONMENT

PURPOSE: A system and a method for providing VOD(Video On Demand) service under wireless network environment are provided to offer VOD service and Internet service through a WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) under wireless network environment. CONSTITUTION: A system for providing VOD service under wireless network environment is composed of a wireless network(10), a VOD terminal(11), a wireless communication service support server(12), a WAP VOD server(13), an encoder(14), and a converter(15). The wireless communication service support server(12) provides wireless communication services to the VOD terminal(11). The WAP VOD server(13) provides a VOD-associated service to the VOD terminal(11) among the wireless communication services the wireless communication service support server(12) provides. The encoder(14) encodes the contents provided by VOD information providers in the form of wireless communication information. The converter(15) converts the contents inputted through the Internet in the form of wireless communication information.
