A stencil composition processing apparatus for color printing comprises a contouring means (8) which scans data of an original picture made up of multiple figures of different colors and detects the profile and color of each figure, a contact/proximity detection means (9) which detects for each figure as to whether there exists any other figure of different color in contact with or close to a prescribed surrounding area of the figure, and a grouping control means (10) which groups the figures into multiple groups each including figures that have different colors and are not in contact with nor close to each other based on data provided by the contact/proximity detection means (9) and combines the figure groups so as to cover figures of all colors that make up the original picture.
