PURPOSE: A communication terminal equipment for insect extermination and a method thereof are provided to exterminate noxious insects by generating an insect extermination frequency, an unharmful ultrasonic wave, without having an effect on telephone conversation. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal having an insect extermination function consists of an RF(Radio Frequency) processor(10), a baseband frequency processor(11), a controller(13), a GPIO(General Purpose Input Output) port(14), a vocoder(15), a CODEC(16), an ultrasonic wave generator(19), an amplifier(20), speakers(17,21), and a microphone(18). The RF processor(10) divides a give area by the cell within an allocated frequency band so that an identical frequency can be used in another cell. The baseband frequency processor(11) processes the original frequency band before it is modulated into an efficient frequency band. The controller(13) controls the start and end of ultrasonic wave generation. The GPIO port(14) is used for generic input/output. The vocoder(15) converts a sound into a code. The CODEC(16) converts an audio or video analog signal into a digital bit stream suitable for transmission. The ultrasonic wave generator(19) generates a frequency of 15.5KHz to 25KHz insects hate. The amplifier(20) amplifies the ultrasonic waves transmitted from the ultrasonic wave generator(19) and outputs them to the speaker(21).
