RELIEF VALVE MECHANISM FOR OIL PUMP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of abnormal noise by sudden opening of a return passage when oil temperature is low. SOLUTION: This relief valve mechanism 20 for an oil pump 10 is provided with a valve element 30 operated so as to release oil to a relief oil passage 198 when the pressure of the oil discharged to the main passage 12 from the oil pump 10 exceeds a predetermined value. The mechanism is provided with a temperature sensing valve element 33 equipped with a first hole 31 in an oil-pressure receiving part of the valve element 30 for closing the hole 31 when the oil temperature is high and for opening the hole 31 when the oil temperature is low.
