PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact feeder for responding miniaturizing of a personal printer or the like. SOLUTION: This feeder of the printer or the like comprises a paper feeding roller 1 and a paper separating roller 2 pressed onto this with a predetermined nip pressure. The paper separating roller 2 is provided with a torque limiter 7, and a set torque by the torque limiter 7 stops the paper separating roller 2 in multi feed of paper to prevent the double feeding. The torque limiter 7 comprises a sleeve integrated with the paper separating roller 2 and a ring-like elastic body 18, elasticity in the reduction direction is applied to the sleeve, the elastic body 18 is engaged with the sleeve and reduced in diameter, and a radial force is generated for a fixed shaft 8 penetrating through the paper separating roller 2.
