PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file management technique capable of realizing excellent fault resistance with a simple structure. SOLUTION: A terminal device 2 acquires file server relation information from a database 7 (1) and performs a registration processing of a file to a main storage 8 determined in the information (2). At this time, the terminal device 2 records duplicate file management information showing the executed processing content in a database 7 (3). Alternative storages 9 examine whether the processing to be performed by themselves are recorded in the duplicate file management information of the database 7 or not, respectively (4), and form the duplicate of the file of object for themselves (5).
