PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stairs-covering structure hardly causing even reduction in aesthetic appearance by preventing the occurrence of a swelling in the stairs-covering material by gathering steam and water discharged from concrete or mortar stairs between the stairs and the stairs-covering material.SOLUTION: A stairs-covering structure covers concrete or mortar stairs 1 of continuing a horizontal plane 1b and a step difference surface 1c via a stair-nosing 1a with a stairs-covering material 2. A ventilation-water communication layer 3 is provided between the horizontal plane 1b of the stairs 1 and the stairs-covering material 2, and an outside-turning discharge port 8 communicating with the ventilation-water communication layer 3 is formed between the left side end and/or the right side end of a stair-nosing part 2a of the stairs-covering material 2 and the stair-nosing 1a of the stairs 1. Since steam and water discharged from the stairs are discharged from the discharge port by passing through the ventilation-water communication layer, a swelling is not caused in the stairs-covering material. The discharged water flows down on the left side end and/or the right side end of the step difference surface of the stairs, and its flow-down trace is inconspicuous, so that reduction in aesthetic appearance is hardly caused.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
