PURPOSE: A device and a method for outputting the display recognition information according to a connector type are provided to detect a type of a connector and recognize a display device correctly based on the detected type. CONSTITUTION: An analog display recognition information storing/outputting part(34) stores/outputs the analog display recognition information to a system. A digital display recognition information storing/outputting part(33) stores/outputs the digital display recognition information to the system. A connector type detector(31) detects the connector type from output of connector pins. A display recognition information output ordering part(32) orders the analog or the digital display recognition information storing/outputting part to output the digital or the analysis display recognition information to the system depending on the connector type detected from the connector type detector.
