PURPOSE: Provided are a thermosetting composition to efficiently inhibit diffused reflection of a substrate and to obtain a high transmission rate of visual light and heat-resistance of a halation preventing film of a solid imaging device and a process for forming the film, and solid state imaging device. CONSTITUTION: The thermosetting composition comprises: (A) a copolymer of epoxy group containing a unsaturated compound and a monomer mixture containing a radical polymerization compound having radiation absorbing group; and (B) at least one compound selected from a group consisting of polyvalent carboxylic acid and anhydride thereof. The thermosetting composition is used for production of halation prevention film that comprises steps of forming a thermosetting composition film on a substrate; and heating the film.
