PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sight glass (viewing window) to be installed on the outer wall of a vessel in which a processing operation is conducted, in particular a centrifugal separator, capable of mounting its illumination mechanism to illuminate inside the vessel without requiring a large space and without generating attachment of a filtrating liquid, washing liquid, etc. and of observing inside the vessel certainly while contamination is prevented. SOLUTION: The sight glass 17 is to be installed on the outer wall of the vessel 3 in which a processing operation is conducted and is equipped with a glass body 20 to be attached to the outer wall and the illumination mechanism 21 installed in such a way as confronting the glass body 20 on the outside of the vessel 3 and illuminating inside the vessel 3 through the glass body 20.
