Sterile pharmaceutical oil-in-water emulsions (A) for parenteral administration, comprising a solution of an active agent (I) in a water-immiscible solvent emulsified in water and stabilized with a surfactant, additionally contain edetate (II) in an amount sufficient to inhibit microbial growth after accidental external contamination for at least 24 hours.
