PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus where image light can be pupil-enlarged as a plurality of image light, irrespective of wavelength of the image light, and to provide a sheet-like reflection element for the image display apparatus. SOLUTION: The sheet-like reflecting element A constituted of right and left side plates is provided with three partial reflection films 12, 22 and 23, and each partial reflecting film partly reflects the incident image light, while transmitting the remaining image light. The aforesaid reflecting element A is arranged so as to reflect the image light incident from a relay optical system 230 toward right and left eyes I as three reflected image light beams.
