PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable optimum direction for reception to be set efficiently. SOLUTION: The MPU 11 of a digital broadcast receiver includes an antenna discriminating part 115, which discriminates whether an antenna connected to an antenna part 151 is functionally a bidirectional antenna having directivity in two directions, forming an angle of about 180°or a unidirectional antenna having directivity only in one direction; and a second intensity acquiring part 116 which sets the connected antenna in a plurality of preliminarily set directions, in a range of 0 to 180°when the bidirectional antenna and in a range of 0 to 360°when the unidirectional antenna, respectively, and acquires reception intensity per set direction; and a direction setting part 117, which sets the connected antenna in a direction of the maximum reception intensity out of acquired reception intensity.
