1389460 Securing slot windings KRAFTWERK UNION AG 29 Dec 1972 [30 Dec 1971] 60185/72 Heading H2A In an arrangement for clamping conductor bars in winding slots, a corrugated spring 13 is incorporated into each slot between the slot wedge 10 and the outermost conductor bar 3, the spring being selected to have a linear characteristic (fractional deformation versus load, as in Fig. 3, not shown) up to 70% of the maximum possible (flattened) deformation, and being compressed to at least 80%, preferably 90%, of such maximum deformation when in position in the slot; any play produced by settling or heating can thereby be accommodated by the springs. The springs 13 may include resin impregnated glass fibres aligned both transverse and parallel to the corrugations, the former being fifteen times heavier than the latter, and may be arranged in pairs with the corrugations extending in the same or opposite directions at any point. |
