The simplified, electrically driven propeller includes a cylindrical casing inside which rotate the propeller blades having, fixed to their tips, a guiding ring which forms the rotor of an induction motor. Lodged inside the cylindrical casing is the corresponding stator around which is a first coil through which passes an alternating multi-phase current creating the rotating magnetic field. The rotor, with the second coil and, consequently, the blades are driven by the magnetic field. Compressed air is injected into the casing to build up the pressure inside it to prevent water from leaking into it.
|
