<p>The articles are treated electrically in an aq. soln. contg. >=1 soluble oxyacid salt from borates, silicates, phosphates, chromates, molybdates, vanadates and permanganates. The treated article is finally coated with a compsn. which is soluble or dispersible in water, specif. chosen from epoxy- MF-, alkyd-, acrylic or natural resins, polyesters, polybutadiene and/or stable modified oil. Typically the electrolytic treatment is effected for 5-30 secs., and the final coating hardened at 80-100 degrees mins. Thin, uniform, adherent coatings are obtd. which are non-porous and have excellent corrosion and shock resistance.</p> |
