<p>The corroguations define the region of folding where the top portion of the spine assembly folds over the bottom portion carrying the metal baseplate with the clips. The clips may protrude through the slits in the top portion. The release lever is cranked, and protrudes between the fixed and moving portions of one of the clips; it has a cam on its end which depresses a spring-loaded lever when the end of the release lever is pushed downwards. The spring loaded lever is double ended; its ends are firmly clamped to the ends of the moving portions of the clips, so that when the release lever is pushed down the clips are closed, to hold the papers in the file.</p> |
