1477696 Polymer blend MONSANTO CO 8 Nov 1974 [9 Nov 1973] 48433/74 Headings C3P and C3G A polymer blend comprises (A) a polymer or a monoalkenyl aromatic monomer, (B) a graft polymer of a monoalkenyl aromatic monomer on a conjugated diene rubber and (C) a block copolymer of at least 55% of a monoalkenylaromatic monomer and not more than 45% of a conjugated diene. Components (B) and (C) are dispersed as particles in a matrix of (A). The blend may be obtained by dry blending followed by melt mixing. The rubber used in component (B) is suitably a stereospecific butadiene polymer. Examples refer to blends of polystyrene, polystyrene grafted on stereospecific polybutadiene and polystyrene-polybutadiene block copolymers containing a major amount of the polystyrene block.
