1498521 Cation exchanged zeolitic granules INST ORGANICHE KHIMII IM ND ZELIN AKAD NAUK SSSR 4 Jan 1975 334/75 Heading C1A [Also in Divisions B1 and C5] A granular zeolite catalyst, e.g. for hydrocarbon conversions (see Division B1) contains cations of a Group II metal with an exchange degree of 5 to 50% of the theoretical value, hydrogen ions with an exchange degree of 5 to 50% of the theoretical value, and cations selected from at least one of two components, one of said components comprising cations of metals of Group III with an exchange degree of 20 to 90% of the theoretical value and the second of said components comprising cations of transition metals of period IV of the periodic table (i.e. the first row transition metals) with an exchange degree of 9 to 80% of the theoretical value. The term "exchange degree" means the amount of substitution of particular cations expressed as a percentage of the total theoretically possible amount of cation substitution. The granular zeolite may be obtained by treating previously formed calcined granules with an aqueous solution containing Group II and/or ammonium salts, drying and calcining the treated granules and then treating with Group III and/or Period IV salt solutions together with a Group II salt solution if only an ammonium salt was used earlier before drying and finally calcining the granules. Binders such as aluminium hydroxide, aluminium hydroxynitrate, bentonite clay or mixtures thereof may be added preferably after the treatment with a solution of a Group II and/or ammonium salt. |
