<p>Sealing by coating damaged places in enamelled surfaces, e.g. walls of boilers, cauldrons, containers, stirrers, etc. to prevent contaminating contact of media, especially liqs. with the substrate, comprises covering the damaged places sealingly with protective components of a material that is resistant to the media with which they may come into contact. The components are of a type as may be appropriate to each individual case, e.g. plugs, cappings, plates, linings, etc., made of a fluoro-plastics such as PTFE. Hardenable sealant especially a putty, is interposed between the fluoro-plastics part and the place to be sealed. The fluoro-plastics part and the place to be sealed.
