The friction clutch driven plate has an annular friction facing carrier (11) with circumferential elastomeric segments (13) secured on it and arranged alternately on one side and the other of the carrier. The annular friction facing (15) is moulded onto the carrier so that the elastomeric segments are embedded. These segments provide axial cushioning for the friction facing, allowing it to flex under axial loads. The elastomeric segments extend the full radial width of the friction facing.
