The central heating circuit comprises a heat pump (1) and a heat store (2) with parallel through-flow heater (2a) and connecting to an upper (3) and a lower (4) line. The latter leads to the heat pump outlet. The upper line contains a three-way mixer (5) connecting to a circulation pump (6) feeding the radiators (8) whose return flow (9) passes back to the heat pump. The mixer (5) further connects to the lower line which contains a three-way valve (11) with a connection to the upper line. The various lines (10 to 4) and (12 to 3) connect to the upper and lower lines (4,3) at points at the store (2) side of the valve (11) and mixer (5). A three-way valve (13) in one line (7) controls a by-pass (14) to the radiators (8).
