The recessed handle (12) forming the grip along the upper edge of the drawers or flaps is formed by a sheet metal element fixed to the back of the end wall (2) so that it extends over the upper edge (8) where it is bent forwards and down. The bending of the sheet metal handle is to have the same shape as the edges of the end wall wherein the latter is pref. provided with lateral projections (13) protruding over its upper edge to which the sheet metal piece can be positively connected at the sides. The handle is now no thicker than the thickness of the end wall and the fastening at the back of the end wall provides greater stability.
