<p>PURPOSE:To use various tapes to perform high-quality PCM recording and reproducing, by comparing the reproducing output of the decision signal, which is recorded together with the PCM signal in parallel on plural tracks of the magnetic tape, with the reference frequency signal to control the reproducing speed. CONSTITUTION:Reference frequency fSO is recorded as decision signal L/R on the first tracks and so on of plural tracks of right and left channels of magnetic tape 10' through quartz oscillator 40 and frequency dividing transmitter 41, and respective transmitter 41, and respective bits of the PCM signal are recorded in parallel on other tracks, and the tape speed at the recording time is controlled by the motor of signal L/R. At the reproducing time, reproducing output fS of signal L/R and reference frequency output fSO from frequency divider 41 are compared with each other by phase comparator 52, and capstan drive motor 56 is so controlled that the comparison output becomes zero. Consequently, various tapes for the cassette, the open reel, the VTR, and so on are used to perform high-quality PCM recording and reproducing with a low noise, a low distortion rate, a high separation, a high dynamic range, a high frequency characteristic, and no wow and flutter.</p> |
