<p>The antenna esp. for UHF and VHF communication with aircraft, includes a pylon supporting modular antenna sections placed one above the other. These sections contain antennas which are fed in phase. Guy cables of synthetic fibres are fixed to ground anchor points to provide supports which do not generate multiple reflections. The modular sections are formed by reflecting elements comprising a single primary reflector and four auxiliary reflectors. Four vertical half wave dipoles are firmly mounted to these reflectors in pairs. The two pairs are coplanar and the vertical arms of the two pairs are colinear. The vertical spacing between the two dipoles is chosen to be a fraction of the average wavelength for the operating frequency range.</p> |
