PURPOSE:To precisely synchronize exposure with paper feeding by starting the reciprocating motion of a scanning optical system for an electrophotographic copying machine from its starting position and then starting count for paper feeding at the time the scanning optical system passes through a fixed position. CONSTITUTION:A wire 10 is shifted by the rotation of a motor 15 through a rotary encoder 14 and a pulley 12. Accompanied with the movement of the wire 10, the 1st and 2nd mirrors 6, 7 are shifted to scan and expose a manuscript. Ahead of image exposure, the 1st mirror 6 is shifted backward until a limit switch 19 is actuated. When the limit switch 19 confirms that the optical system has returned to the starting position, image exposure is started. If a photosensor 18 detects the passing of a douser 17, clock pulses are started to be counted, and transfer paper is started to be fed at the time prescribed number has been counted. |
