PURPOSE:To secure a large cargo space in a vehicle of station wagon type, as regulated by law, by preventing a seat from sliding backward when a seat back is in a position of reclination at a set angle or more. CONSTITUTION:When a seat back in a posture of backward inclination is inclined backward further by pulling up an operating lever 14 as a seat is in the foremost position, backward inclination detecting lever 21 follows the backward tilting of an upper bracket 12 and a locking lever 23 is turned in a direction D around a shaft 24 by a spring 35 so that the detection lever 21 is turned in a direction C around a shaft 22 through a link 25. At that time, the locking lever 23 locks an engaging pin 34 for an operating rod 18 by the locking part 33b of a cam 33 so that the rod cannot be manipulated. As a result, the seat is kept from being slid by a seat slide adjuster 4, so that the seat back is prevented from projecting into a cargo space. |
