PURPOSE:To make it possible to enhance the activity rate of a hydroelectric generating facility upon operation of a water turbine, by vertically receiving the thrust load in the gravitational direction which generates upon a valve closing, by means of a concrete foundation and a rock bed which are positioned below a pressure pipe. CONSTITUTION:Since the stream direction of water flowing through an inlet valve 4 may be coincided with the gravitational direction by vertically arranging the inlet valve 4, the thrust load which is generated upstream of the valve 4 upon the valve 4 closing, is vertically received by a concrete foundation 11 and a rock bed 8 which are positioned below a pressure water pipe 2a. Therefore, the horizontally extending length of the pressure water pipe 2a may be shortened, and a loss in the energy of water flowing through the pressure water pipe 2a may be made less, thereby the activity rate of the hydroelectric generating facility may be enhanced upon operation of a water turbine. |
