PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. having excellent strength characteristics such as tensile strength while its hardness is low, by blending a resinous polymer with an oil-extended norbornene polymer. CONSTITUTION:80-280pts.wt. oil component (a softening agent such as naphthenic process oil and a plasticizer such as dibutyl phthalate) is mixed with 100pts.wt. norbornene polymer obtd. by ring opening-(co)polymerizing bicyclo- [2,2,1,]heptene-2 and/or its derivative, in a mixer such as a roll mill or a Banbury mixer. 10-50pts.wt. (per 100pts.wt. norbornene polymer) resinous polymer (e.g. vinyl chloride resin for paste processing) is blended with the resulting oil- extended norbornene polymer to obtain the titled norbornene polymer compsn.
