PURPOSE:To obtain a cutter for thermoplastic plates on a mass-production basis for obtaining the foot edge of folded styrol foam plate boxes, etc., by using a cutter blade which can be heated and has parallel lifting guides on its both sides. CONSTITUTION:A cutter blade 2 having sharp cutting edge 2a is heated to a temperature suitable for cutting by an electric heater 4 provided between cutter blade holders 3. The lower tip 5a of a lifting guide 5 provided in parallel with both sides of the cutter blade 2 and also away from the cutter blade 2 is sharpened to form a lifting face 5b bent upwards with a slowly curved or inclined face. Also, the lower tip 5a is positioned backwards by as much as at least one piece or more of expanded thermoplastic plates 1 from the cutting edge 2a of the cutter blade 2. The cutter blade 2 and the lifting guide 5 are integrally moved in the direction of arrow P and the plastic plates 1 are cut off. The cut plastic plates 1 are stepwise lifted up by the lifting face 5b, and the weld of the adjacent plastic plates 1 is cut and separated. |
