PURPOSE:To prevent an arrangement of printed characters from being disordered, by skipping deletion when line-feeding data or tab position data are detected at the time of deleting data stored in a text memory. CONSTITUTION:When deleting keys (a) such as a deleting key and a back-spacing key are operated, a deleting means (b) deletes the data at a predetermined deleting position in a group of data stored in the text memory (e) one piece of data at a time. In deleting, when the line-feeding data or the tab position data are detected in the data at the predetermined deleting position by a detecting means (d), the deletion by the deleting means (b) is skipped by a skipping means (c). Accordingly, the tab position data which relate to the arrangement of characters and the line-feeding data are prevented from being deleted, and the arrangement of the printed characters is prevented from being disordered. |
