PURPOSE:To expand the life of a magnetic head by forming the 2nd curved surface having the radius of curvature smaller than that of the 1st surface having the radius of curvature smalle than that of the 1st curved surface and exhausting a part of air flowing into a gap between the magnetic head and a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic conversion gap 20 formed on a core 12 is constituted of a non-magnetic material and radiates/absorbes leaked magnetic flux to/from a magnetic recording medium passing on the contact surface of the magnetic head 11. The 1st cylindrical surface 12 having the radius R1 of curvature is formed om the opposite surface of the magnetic head 11 to the magnetic tape 10 and the 2nd cylindrical surfaces 22 having the radius R2 of curvature smaller than the R1 are formed on both sides of the cylindrical surface 21. An angle alpha formed by the tangential line of the curved surface 21 at the points C, D of inflection and the chord g (a straight line passing the points C, D of inflection) is constituted smaller than an angle beta formed by the tangential line of the 2nd curved surface 22 at the points C, D of inflection. |
