METHOD OF POSITIONING AND FIXING OPTICAL FIBER

PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a product without damaging the surface of optical fibers by electrifying the fixing part of the optical fibers and generating dielectric polarization on the optical fibers to fix the optical fibers on the fixing part. CONSTITUTION:When the fixing part 8 formed adjacently to a positioning V-shaped groove 3 for the optical fibers 2 is electrified, dielectric polarization is generated on the optical fibers 2 and the optical fibers 2 are positioned and fixed by absorbing force generated between the fixing part 8 and the fibers 2 and the V-shaped groove 3. When the two optical fibers 2 are opposed to each other, their end parts are pulled in each other and fixed. Consequently, a fiber pressing tool can be omitted and the surfaces of the fibers are not damaged, so that the reliability of the product is improved and stable connection reduced at its loss can be attained by self-centering of there fibers 2.
