PURPOSE:To reduce the positional shift of the beam landing point resulting from the thermal expansion of the frame supports by providing the four corners of the side walls of the mask frame with extending sections to which frame supports are fixed. CONSTITUTION:The four corners of the side walls 231 of a mask frame 23 has sections extending away from a shadow mask 22. One end of a frame support 24, which has a connection hole 241 near the other end, is fixed near the end of each of the extending sections 26. The connection holes 241 of the frame supports 24 are connected to panel pins 25. The dimensions of the mask frame 23, the extending sections 26 and the frame supports 24 are controlled in order to compensate the thermal expansion of the frame supports 24 in a direction extending away from the screen 28 by the expansion of the mask frame 23 and the sections 26 toward the screen 28. Due to the above structure, it is possible to reduce the positional shift of the beam landing point. |
