PURPOSE:To surely execute a projection welding under good contact state by performing the press-fitting of both sides of a conductive finger uniformly with the clamp force of high pressure by a clamp unit in case of pressure welding a segment on the edge peripheral face of a blade base plate. CONSTITUTION:A segment 3 is set to the electrode clamp device 8 which waits at the upper part, in case of performing a projecting welding of a small segment 3 on the edge peripheral face of the blade base plate 1 held in the vertical state by the electrode clamp of the lower part electrode device 6. The segment 3 is then clamped strongly by press-fitting conductive fingers 26, 27 between the pressing rolls 34, 35 which received the clamp force of high pressure by inserting a wedge-shaped taper block 39 between the guide rollers 18, 19 of clamp arms 32, 33 by actuating the cylinder 38 of a clamp unit 23. The welding of the segment 3 is then performed in the good contact state pressurized uniformly by pressing the segment 3 to the upper edge of the base plate 1 by descending the device 8.
