PURPOSE:To enable the manufacture of rolled products with uniformly sized and shaped lateral edges, by providing a recess at the end part of each of upper and lower work rolls, and a half flange fittable into this recess, at rolling steel sheets, etc., by a rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:When a material 10 is rolled by upper and lower work rolls 2, 3, of the rolling mill, one end of the upper work roll 2 is provided with a full circumferential recess 15, and one end of the lower work roll 3, on the side opposite to the recess 15, is provided with a full circumferential recess 16. Half flanges 17, 18, with inner diameter equal to outer diameter of the work roll, fittable into these recesses 15, 16, are arranged so as to cover the work rolls 2, 3, at a position respectively opposing to the recesses 15, 16. The edges of the rolled material 10 are restrained by these half flanges 17, 18, so that the edge drop and edge stretching phenomenon do not occur during the rolling work; hereby, the rolled product having the breadth of specified size can be manufactured. As a result, the decrease of the yield of rolled product due to the edge trimming, etc. |
