PURPOSE:To miniaturize a device, by driving a pulse motor in the transfer time of a bit of picture information, starting a recording at the completing time of the transfer of the bit of picture information, and applying a time division on the recording timing of a recording means and the driving timing of the pulse motor. CONSTITUTION:A pulse counter 18, after counting a motor driving pulse MOTR for five times, outputs a reset pulse RES to a motor control circuit 17, and motor pulses phiA-phiD are turned off, and a pulse motor 15 enters in a non- exciting state. The motor control circuit 17 outputs a two-phase excitation pattern by the first and the second signals MOTR, and outputs monophasic excitation pattern by the fourth signal MOTR, and sets the off state of all outputs by the fifth signal MOTR. Thus, after applying the time division on the recording timing and the driving timing of the pulse motor, rotating the pulse motor after performing a two-phase excitation, stopping it with monophasic excitation, and generating the non-excitation state, a recording operation is performed. In this way, the maximum demand current can be reduced, and a power source capacity can be made small, and the miniaturization and the cost down of the device can be realized.
