PURPOSE:To make it possible to increase the storage capacity of multi-spindle heads, by providing an elevator coupled to elevating rails in respective groups, and an elevation drive means coupled to this elevator so that the mechanism of delivery to and from an elevating mechanism is simplified. CONSTITUTION:There are provided an elevator 62 coupled to elevating rails 10, 18 in first and second guide rails 5, 6 and an elevation drive means 63 coupled to the elevator 62. Further, the elevator 62 is driven for elevation to move a multi-spindle head between the first and second guide rails 5, 6. Further, when an elevating rail 10 in the first guide rail 5 is moved toward the second guide rail 6, one of multi-spindle heads stored on the second guide rail 6 is retracted outward, and therefore, the first and second guide rails may store thereon an equal number of multi-spindle head. Accordingly it is possible to increase the storage capacity of multi-spindle heads, and to simplify the arrangement for exchange motion of multi-spindle heads.
