SEPARATION COOLING AND SEPARATION LUBRICATING TYPE ENGINE

PURPOSE:To provide optimum control of lubricating oil temperature through a cylinder head cooling system by controlling communication between a cylinder head lubricating system cooled by cooling water and cooling and lubricating systems of cylinder block cooled by lubricating oil according to engine temperature. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder head 1 is provided with an upper cooling system 5 through which cooling water circulates and an upper lubricating system 4 through which lubricating oil circulates. Also, a cylinder block 2 is provided with a lower cooling system 6A and a lower lubricating system 6B through which lubricating oil circulates. A communicating path 10 is branched from a discharge port of a pump P2 for the lower cooling system 6A and the lower lubricating system 6B through an electromagnetic valve V2 to be connected to a discharge port of a pump P1 for the upper lubricating system 4 and an oil reserve chamber through an electromagnetic valve V1. A control unit 12 changes over said valves V1, V2 respectively to communicate the communicating path 10 side and communicating path 10 to promote the temperature rise of lubricating system on the basis of a value detected by a oil temperature sensor 11 when engine temperature is low.
