PURPOSE:To improve fine line reproducibility and to secure high printing quality, by constituting a thermal head of a heat generating resistor layer so as to be embedded in the groove provided to the heat insulating glass heat accumulation layer formed on a ceramic substrate and to have an upper surface exposed on almost the same plane as the upper surface of the glass heat accumulation layer, a current supply electrode pattern and an abrasion resistant layer. CONSTITUTION:A glass heat accumulation layer 2 is formed on a ceramic substrate 1 and a heat generating resistor layer 4 is embedded in the groove linearily provided to the center of said layer 2 in the longitudinal direction thereof and a current supply electrode pattern 3 is formed to the upper surface of the layer 4 and the whole is covered with an abrasion resistant layer 5. As mentioned above, a substantially rectangular heat generator composed of the heat generating resistor layer 4 having a flat upper surface is formed. Therefore, a printed black dot of the min. unit becomes rectangular and, when printing is performed so as to linearily continue to said dot, high quality printing imparting a uniform thickness can be performed. |
