PURPOSE:To shorten the repair time by forming partition walls on the inside of a hollow structure so as to surround a damaged place and filling up inert gas in the partitioned surface to repair the damaged place from the outside of the hollow structure and forming the damaged place to an inert gas atmosphere locally. CONSTITUTION:Two drainage ports 6 situated at the positions not effected thermally at both sides of the damage D are utilized to fill a synthetic resin foaming body 7 therein. Then, the partition walls 7a are formed on the inside of a square Ti pipe 5 respectively. Moreover, in th case there are no existing drainage ports 6, these are newly provided. Next, an insertion port 8 of a gas filling pipe 10 is provided to the inside of an airtight section 9 partitioned with the damage D between or when there is the existing drainage port 6, it is utilized to insert the gas filling pipe 10 and fill the inert gas G therein and air A is exhausted from a drainage port 6a newly provided and the inert gas is filled up therein. Moreover, when there is the existing drainage port 6, it is utilized. Next, the gas filling pipe 10 is pulled out and the insertion port 8 of the gas filling pipe 10 is sealed and the inert gas atmosphere is formed and afterward, the repair welding is performed by an inert gas arc welding machine T from the outside.
